I HAVE A FRIEND WHO . . .
Some of the monsters that we must contend with today are the same as they were in the days when the Bible was written. Peter and Paul had to address racial and diversity issues in the church, Moses and many of Jesus’ disciples had to tackle their doubts and lack of faith head on, and prophets like Elijah and Jeremiah fought depression and anxiety. Many people confront these beasts every day. Does God have anything to say from his Word that can speak to these topics with relevance today? Does God know anything about this human condition, so that we can offer solutions to ourselves and those within our sphere of influence? In a word, yes! And, he offers not condemnation, but compassion, mercy, and hope.
